Home for the Holidays!

A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of shooting my little sister, Mariah for our Home for the Holidays RoseVintage shoot! We found an amazing abandoned farm in Monroe, MI (our hometown) & explored it with bundles of vintage clothing & a camera! Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving! I can't wait to start decking the halls!

10. Funglish was the Christmas Eve game of the night. Great game that get's a little dirty by accident.　

This year I keep my New Year's resolution simple. Love. Love my babies no matter how crazy or stinky they are. Love my husband for everything that he is. Love every item I choose to be in my store. Love myself for who I am now, not who I used to be.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, Threadesque readers! I'm Nicole from Pussycat Vintage! I was over the moon when Miss Samantha asked me to do a guest post on the best holiday of the year! What an honor! I know that we are all busy enjoying this magical day so I promise to keep it quick. I just want to share with you a few of my favorite things I've enjoyed about Christmas this year. 1. Family - I would be nothing with out these amazing people. They are always there for me and the most important people in my life!

2. Logan - His dad and I rotate holidays and this year he is all mine! Love having him all to myself this year. He's my everything!

3. Christmas Tree - Cutting down our own, which has become our family tradition.

4. Holiday Party - Being a part of this amazing holiday party on the Adalou Blog! Giveaways are still open!!

5. The Elf - Finding this little guy and adding him to our collection to put on the tree every year.

DIY Glitter Ornaments

Hi friends! It was such a pleasure guest posting for A Cup of T! I decided to share the post on here just in case you missed it! Sorry I haven't posted much lately, I'm in Michigan visiting family for Christmas. I will try my best to post as often as possible! 

What you need:

Glitter(I finally bought the 24 pack of Martha Stewart glitter!)

Ornaments

Glitter glue

Paint brush 

Pick your glitter colors! After much consideration, I went with traditional Christmas colors, red & green! 

Step 1: Use your glitter glue pen to draw your initial on the ornament

Quick tip - If you mess up, you can easily fix with a q-tip! 

Step 2: Sprinkle glitter onto the glue! 

Quick tip - The more the better!

Step 3: Let the glue dry! While you wait I highly suggest listening to the She&Him Christmas album & drinking hot cocoa!

Step 4: After the glue dries, gently tap the ornament to remove the excess glitter. Use a tiny paint brush to tidy up the edges.

Step 5: Hang on your tree!

What an awesome idea for holiday hors d'oeuvres! 

Hello! I am Tia from A cup of T.  
I am delighted to be posting a holiday DIY for you here on Threadesque!  
Today I will be showing you how to make a yarn wrapped Christmas tree. 
Let’s get started…

You will need:  Styrofoam cone, yarn, straight pins, hot glue gun, scissors

Optional items: Small doily, buttons, embroidery thread or anything you would like to embellish your tree with.

Step 1: Pin end of yarn at the top of cone

Step 2: Cover top of cone with hot glue and spiral yarn around the top

Step 3: Continue to warp the cone until you reach the very bottom

Step 4: Pin yarn at the bottom

Time to embellish, let’s see...lets add a tree skirt & tree topper! 

I used a vintage clip on earrings attached with a dab of hot glue

To finish up lets add some garland to the tree using straight pins and thick embroidery thread

Last but not least, display your purty little tree!

Hey everyone! I'm Kristen of Those Sunny Days! When Sam asked me to do a guest post DIY for her, I was thrilled. This is my first guest post so I may have giggled in excitement and to be on Threadesque is a pleasure! So onto the crafts. I create a bunch of little things all the time that are easy and simple and this DIY is no different. And the best part: it's pretty darn cheap!

Supplies:-Polymer Clay (I used CraftSmart white polymer clay, about $9)-Acrylic Paint (I used Americana, $ .77 each)-Small paintbrush-Tooth picks or small twigs-Glue
Directions: -Create one big, medium, and small sized ball with your clay. Then put them on top of each other and push down gently.

-To create a 3D snowcap, make your snowcap, then take a tiny piece of clay and roll it out until it looks log-like. Put it on the bottom of the hat, flip the hat over and push the two ends of the "log" together and pinch. Gently press onto the top of the snowman.

-Take tiny pieces of clay to make the eyes, carrot nose, and buttons. To make eyes and buttons, with a tooth pick press two or four small holes on the small clay piece. With the same tooth pick, break in half and with the broken piece, press a hole into the middle ball on each side for the arms after they bake. IMPORTANT! Bake clay according to the directions on the clay you bought. 

-Now you paint however you'd like! After they dry, take your tooth pick and on the broken side, put a dab of glue on and stick in the holes of the middle ball. 
And that's it! Sit back, relax, and have fun creating! Thanks for having me on here! xo kristen
