Hello, hello! This is Sam here from My Latest Obsession. Today, I wanted to share a tutorial with you guys on how to spice up that regular ol' t-shirt by sewing on a pretty lace collar! It's super easy and perfect for any beginner! 

1. I started off with a collar I already had but if you don't have one, simply grab a piece of paper, trace around the neckline of the shirt and draw yourself one! This also allows you to customize it a bit. For example, instead of a rounded corner, you may want more of a square corner! Get creative! 

2. Cut out the lace collar. I chose not to do a piece for the back but that's completely up to you. 

3. Pin collar onto shirt and sew along the edges (preferably with a smaller stitch since it's lace).

These pretty paper covered magnets are such a fun and easy craft, which actually serve to be very useful in the end. You can use these to add a charming little touch to your fridge, and they're even cute enough to give away as favors or swag. 

Supplies:

-Magnets

-Card stock

-Pencil

-Scissors

-Paintbrush

-Modge Podge 

1. Trace around your magnet on to the wrong side of your patterned card stock. Slowly cut around the outside of the circle you traced. Make sure to use a lot of tiny cuts instead of a couple of long ones. 

2. paint a tiny bit of Modge Podge on to your magnet. 

3. Stick your paper circle on top of the magnet. Wait for the glue to dry, and then cut any excess paper off the edges to form a perfect circle. 

4. Add a thin top coat of Modge Podge to your paper magnets. Wait for them to dry before using. 

DIY Map Valentine

I love making my fiance, Donovan sweet handmade cards all the time but for Valentine's Day I always do something extra special! We love to travel together so I decided to make him a map valentine that could also be used as art around our house! 

You will need..

-A map

-Glitter

-Pencil

-Scissors 

-Glitter glue

Step 1: Draw a heart shape on the back of your map 

Step 2: Cut along the line

Step 3: Write the letters on the map using your glitter glue

Step 4: Glitter! Shake off excess glitter

Step 5: Give to your loved one on Valentine's Day!

DIY Glitter Ornaments

Hi friends! It was such a pleasure guest posting for A Cup of T! I decided to share the post on here just in case you missed it! Sorry I haven't posted much lately, I'm in Michigan visiting family for Christmas. I will try my best to post as often as possible! 

What you need:

Glitter(I finally bought the 24 pack of Martha Stewart glitter!)

Ornaments

Glitter glue

Paint brush 

Pick your glitter colors! After much consideration, I went with traditional Christmas colors, red & green! 

Step 1: Use your glitter glue pen to draw your initial on the ornament

Quick tip - If you mess up, you can easily fix with a q-tip! 

Step 2: Sprinkle glitter onto the glue! 

Quick tip - The more the better!

Step 3: Let the glue dry! While you wait I highly suggest listening to the She&Him Christmas album & drinking hot cocoa!

Step 4: After the glue dries, gently tap the ornament to remove the excess glitter. Use a tiny paint brush to tidy up the edges.

Step 5: Hang on your tree!

What an awesome idea for holiday hors d'oeuvres! 

Hello! I am Tia from A cup of T.  
I am delighted to be posting a holiday DIY for you here on Threadesque!  
Today I will be showing you how to make a yarn wrapped Christmas tree. 
Let’s get started…

You will need:  Styrofoam cone, yarn, straight pins, hot glue gun, scissors

Optional items: Small doily, buttons, embroidery thread or anything you would like to embellish your tree with.

Step 1: Pin end of yarn at the top of cone

Step 2: Cover top of cone with hot glue and spiral yarn around the top

Step 3: Continue to warp the cone until you reach the very bottom

Step 4: Pin yarn at the bottom

Time to embellish, let’s see...lets add a tree skirt & tree topper! 

I used a vintage clip on earrings attached with a dab of hot glue

To finish up lets add some garland to the tree using straight pins and thick embroidery thread

Last but not least, display your purty little tree!

Hi lovely people! 

I am really happy to be guest posting on threadesque again! 

Today I want to share a little and cute idea for christmas with you. 

Who doesn't love penguins? 

You need:

1. Paint 

2. Planter 

3. Paint brushes 

1. Start painting your planter with the color of your penguin.

2. Paint the penguin's eyes with a darker paint.

3. Paint the little beak (I recommend doing it a bit higher than the eyes so it looks even cuter)

4. Paint his little belly and the wings (try to add some volume by adding dome white paint while it is wet) 

5. You can choose any color you want... just have fun!! 

6. The only thing that we have to do next is ad a plant to our planter! (I am still in that step) 

7. Enjoy your penguin and water your plant so it grows in a lovely way.

DIY Easy Christmas Garland

C H R I S T M A S 

D I Y

Here's a super easy, inexpensive, DIY Christmas garland 

that I made to go behind our tree! 

This will cost only $2 total 

& take roughly 5 minutes to create!

Do you have any fun DIY projects that you've

-Holiday ribbon 

(I used Celebrate It from Michaels, $1)

-Glitter snowflakes

(Target, $1 for 6)

-Hot glue 

Unravel ribbon.. yes that's it!

Thread ribbon through snowflake strings 

(the snowflakes came with the string attached 

already, MAJOR TIME SAVER!)

Separate around 12 inches apart & glue in place!

Finished! 

wow.. that's the simplest DIY, ever!
